Es un derivado oxidado del nerolidol, con aroma floral, amaderado, verde y ligeramente dulce. Se utiliza como componente de fragancias.
Origen
Vegetal
puede derivarse de terpenos presentes en plantas.

también puede fabricarse por oxidación controlada; no procede de animales.
En alimentos
Para qué se usa
Perfumería y cosmética: se emplea en perfumes, cremas, jabones y aromatizantes. Puede figurar en saborizantes autorizados en pequeñas cantidades.
